Our Approach
Orientation at EDGE
Once you’re accepted into the program, you’ll kick things off at C.A.R. Leadership EDGE in October. This is where you’ll meet your cohort, connect with your trainer, and start building relationships right away. More than just an introduction, EDGE sets the tone for the year and gives you a clear picture of what leadership looks like at both the local and state level.
Training Sessions & Group Coaching
Throughout the year, you’ll take part in interactive training sessions designed to help you grow as a leader. You’ll reflect on your strengths, identify areas for growth, and apply what you’re learning through guided exercises and coaching. Group coaching sessions are fully virtual, making it easy to stay connected and supported no matter where you are.
Capstone Project
You won’t just learn, you’ll put it into practice. You’ll be placed in a small group and work together on a real challenge facing the industry. It’s a chance to apply your leadership skills, collaborate with others, and create something meaningful. The program wraps up with final presentations at the Fall Business Meetings, followed by graduation.
Behind the Curtain of C.A.R.
Throughout the program, you’ll hear directly from C.A.R. leaders including staff and past presidents. They’ll share real insights, experiences, and lessons learned, giving you a clearer understanding of how the association works and what leadership looks like in action.
